“See you on the big stage!” - Bek Brooks

BEK BROOKS — EPK

Country Music's Next Biggest Star

ABOUT

Bek Brooks is a Melbourne-based singer-songwriter whose practice sits at the intersection of Australian storytelling and Nashville production. Her writing is defined by lyric precision and narrative economy — the ability to compress complex emotional experience into a single, grounded image.

Bek Brooks has been developing her craft through annual writing and recording residencies in Nashville since 2022, working in collaboration with respected producers and engineers in contemporary country and Americana. In 2023, she was invited by Sounds Australia to perform at the legendary Bluebird Café during AmericanaFest — a major milestone in Australian country music export.

Her debut album Capability Specialist is the culmination of a decade of practice: a 9-track musical memoir moving through grief, addiction, loss, redemption, and creative conviction, told with the specificity and emotional honesty that has defined her work from the beginning.

DEBUT ALBUM — CAPABILITY SPECIALIST

Capability Specialist is a memoir in song form. The album takes its title from a corporate rejection letter — reframing the language of institutional self-doubt into a statement of creative identity. Across 9 tracks, it brings together songs written across different chapters of Bek Brooks life, including reimagined earlier work and new material shaped through sustained Nashville collaboration.

The album was developed between Melbourne and Nashville across three years of creative practice, produced in collaboration with Derek Garten (Prime Recording Studio, Nashville) — engineer, editor, programmer and mixer on Taylor Swift’s Taylor’s Version re-recording series (Fearless, Red, Speak Now, 1989). The project occupies a distinctive space within contemporary country and Americana: neither purely Australian nor purely American, and stronger for it.
